Water crisis leaves Mozambique "in very serious need": ICRC

October 11, 2021 / 9:40 PM
Sharjah 24 – AFP: The north of Mozambique is in "very serious need" of support for its public health infrastructure, says Dominik Stillhart, Director of Operations for the International Committee of the Red Cross.
“The country faces the cumulative effects of a water shortage from extreme weather events and an influx of people displaced by armed conflict with insurgents in Cabo Delgado province,” he added.

ICRC Director highlighted that the open water sources from which the residents draw their water for drinking and washing are "not to any standards of public health".
