The AUIEC Board of Directors has also approved the launch of the first edition of the first Arab exhibition "Arab Expo" in Jordan on July first, in coordination with the Jordan Investment Commission and in cooperation with all government bodies, members of the AUIEC.

This came during the extraordinary meeting, held recently via video conference technology, chaired by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences, a member of the Sharjah Consultative Council, and CEO of the Expo Center Sharjah.

Present at the meeting were Ghassan al-Fakiani, Vice Chairman, AUIEC, HE Mahmoud Youssef Al-Jarrah, Secretary-General, AUIEC, and representatives of 14 Arab countries from the members of the Union.

"Opening regional offices of the Union is a significant step forward towards strengthening its position as a common integrative economic platform. It also contributes to unifying Arab efforts to overcome the challenges faced by the Arab exhibition sector," said Saif Mohamed Al Midfa.

"These offices will contribute to an increase in the number of memberships in the union and acceleration of procedural steps taken by it, in order to achieve its sought-after objectives of boosting economic cooperation and increasing trade exchange between Arab countries," added Al Midfa.

Mahmoud Youssef Al-Jarrah called for concerted efforts to advance joint Arab action, commending the role of the Council of Arab Economic Unity in developing Arab economic work and developing inter-Arab trade.
