Sharjah24 - WAM: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the funding of AED 65 billion to an Emirati housing programme in Dubai. The budget will be used to provide quality housing for Emiratis over the next two decades.
His Highness also gave directions to quadruple the number of citizens who would benefit from the housing program starting next year, as well as to increase the land plots given to Emirati housing developments in Dubai to 1.7 billion square feet, which will meet citizen demand for the next 20 years.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed said quality housing is everyone’s basic right and a top priority for the government. "We have adopted an integrated housing policy, which I will supervise myself. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, will follow up on its plans."
His Highness said Dubai’s vision is to be the world’s best city to live in. Developing housing for citizens is a top priority that forms part of this objective, he added.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, highlighted the importance of streamlining efforts to implement the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, which maps out a comprehensive plan for sustainable urban development in Dubai.

Their security, wellbeing and prosperity remains our highest priority," Sheikh Hamdan said.
His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, said the provision of housing facilities is a key focus of the government. "Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, we are working to develop a comprehensive plan for ensuring our citizens have access to high quality housing over the next 20 years.
Dubai’s urban development plans are subject to constant review and our housing policy will continue to evolve according to the requirements of our citizens," Sheikh Maktoum said.
