Sharjah24 – Reuters: Young Austrian designer Florentina Leitner and her "Vacation on the Moon" collection kicked off Berlin's Fashion Week on Monday night (September 6).
Elegant cuts, extravagant prints and innovation dominated the Berlin Fashion Week show.
Leitner's vacation on the moon is less of a lunar expedition and more of a reminiscence of her childhood holidays on Austria's Mondsee, or Moon Lake, which the 25-year-old wanted to incorporate in her latest work.
Her collection is also influenced by traditional costumes and dirndls found in Austria as well as "a sort of futuristic touch with the space suits to create something new."
Leitner, a graduate of Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts, presented her fall/winter 2021 collection digitally at New York Fashion Week this past February, entitled "The Royal Leitners."
Florentina Leitner founded her fashion label in London in December 2020.
