Sharjah24 – Reuters: Pop star Camila Cabello and the stars of 'Cinderella' gathered in Los Angeles on Monday (August 30) for the world premiere of Amazon's adaptation of the classic fairy tale.
Cabello, who makes her movie debut in the title role of "Cinderella," stars alongside "Frozen" singer Idina Menzel and "Pose"'s Billy Porter.

The prince is played by English actor Nicholas Galitzine who first featured in John Williams' 2014 film "The Beat Beneath My Feet".

Cabello, who has a Cuban mother and Mexican father, said she hoped her being cast as the first "Latina" Cinderella would be an inspiration for others.

"I'm so happy to be able to be a part of the representation in this movie and have, you know, young Latin people kind of see themselves on the screen," said Cabello.

"It was incredible, I mean, I love this film so much, I love what it stands for, I love the messages that it has. And to be able to represent such a badass, inspirational character is just like so sick," she added.

Cabello's 'Cinderella' has dreams of pursuing a career as a fashion designer and refuses to give up on her ambitions in order to marry her prince and "Frozen" star Idina Menzel praised the story's modernity.

The prince in "Cinderella" takes a step back his royal duties in order to be with his love and fans have found parallels with movie and the story of Britain's Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. However, writer-director Kay Cannon said any similarities were coincidental.

"Cinderella," which also features appearances from James Corden, Minnie Driver and Pierce Brosnan, is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from Friday (September 3).
