Sharjah 24 – AFP: Nigerian authorities enlist the help of traditional hunters to guard farmers in their fields against attacks from the insurgent group Boko Haram.
The governor of Borno State in northeastern Nigeria, Babagana Umara Zulum, first recruited traditional hunters in volunteer forces against Boko Haram in 2019.
This week, he enlisted 1000 more hunters to protect farmers tending their crop fields.

The hunters undergo security screening before their recruitment. The state government pays volunteers an allowance and provides them with kits, included vehicles.
