Sharjah 24 – KUNA: The death toll from the floods in mainly east of Belgium two weeks ago has risen to 41, while two people are still missing, Minister-President of the Walloon region Elio Di Rupo, announced Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, he did not give an estimate of the total damage from the severe floods, but the said that 202 of the 262 Walloon municipalities are eligible to apply for help from the Disaster Fund.
"This gives you the scale of the drama we are experiencing," Di Rupo said.
The Walloon government will also set up a mechanism to seek donations, "because we will need a lot of money" for reconstruction, he noted.
