June 12, 2021 / 11:50 AM
Sharjah24 - AFP: Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez calls on Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega to release the four opposition presidential pre-candidates recently detained on charges of encouraging "foreign interference", with five months to go before the presidential election.
Pedro Sanchez, Prime Minister of Spain said, "Spain's position is the position of the European Union, a firm defence of the rights of freedoms and democratic values. I would therefore like to address President Ortega personally and directly. Let's play fair. Let him free the opposition members and let him take part in this electoral process fair and square."
