Sharjah24 - AFP: Arriving at the Carbis Bay venue for the G7 summit, German Chancellor Angela Merkel says she hopes the gathering will lead to a "very good outcome", particularly on the issues of the access to vaccines for African countries, and also for a global economic recovery.
Angela Merkel, German Chancellor said, "We're going to talk about a number of issues, including how to overcome the pandemic, all the issues related to vaccination, and I hope we'll have a very good outcome here to show that we're not just thinking about ourselves, but we're also thinking about those who haven't yet had the chance to be vaccinated, especially countries in Africa, but also others."

She added, "Secondly, it is also about how we revive the global economy. And I am of course pleased that the American President is here. To be able to meet Joe Biden for the first time is of course something important, because he represents the commitment to multilateralism that we have lacked in recent years."
