Sharjah 24 – KUNA: Algeria's National People Assembly election kicked off Saturday, where polling centres are expected to receive more than 24 million voters to choose their representatives, with a new electoral system.
In a press statement, the head of the country's Independent Electoral Commission, Mohammad Sharafi, said that they have allocated more than 13,000 polling stations in the country, in addition to 357 others abroad.

Sharafi added that various state institutions were keen to ensure a smooth running of the electoral process, which witnessed a special health protocol prepared by the Independent Election Authority to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has summoned the electoral commission on March 11 and signed an order that included the amendment of a law related to the electoral system.
