According to Syrian Arab News Agency, Al-Assad gained 13.5 million votes with 95.1 percent out of the total correct votes, Speaker Sabbagh said at a press conference.
Sabbagh added that the number of voters who have the right to cast their votes inside and outside Syria reached 18.1 million, while the number of those who cast their votes inside and outside the country reached 14.2 million with 78.64 percent.
Al-Assad has been reelected to a fourth term, defeating two candidates; Mahmoud Marei, who previously served as secretary general of the rebel coalition National Front for the Liberation of Syria (3.3 percent of the votes), and Abdullah Sallum of the Socialist Unionist Party came in third of the votes.
