Sharjah 24 – KUNA: Saudi Arabia announced that it would be donating USD 20 million to Sudan to cover some of the latter's funding gap at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
A statement Monday by the Foreign Ministry, carried by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) Tuesday, said that the sum would be transferred to the IMF's emergency and deferred fees accounts to help relief Sudan's debt.

The statement also welcomed the results of the International Conference in Support of Sudan in Paris, affirming that Saudi Arabia will stand with Sudan to help it regain regional and international composure.

Saudi Arabia also welcomed all efforts aimed at bolstering security and stability in Sudan, praising efforts by the US, the Sudan friends group and others who are trying to boost Sudan's economic welfare.

On 17 May, France hosted a conference of Heads of State and Government, chaired by President Emmanuel Macron, in support of Sudan's democratic transition.
