Sharjah24 – AFP: China hits out at Japan's plan to release more than one million tonnes of treated water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the ocean. "This approach is extremely irresponsible," says the foreign ministry spokesperson.
Commenting on this, Zhao Lijian, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said, "Without securing safety measures, despite doubts and opposition from home and abroad, and without sufficient consultation with neighbouring countries, the Japanese side has unilaterally decided to dispose of waste water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant accident. This approach is extremely irresponsible and will seriously damage international public health and safety and the vital interests of the people of neighbouring countries. "
