"Accusations of human rights violations lodged at some Arab countries are completely untrue and baseless," Adel Al-Asoomi said amid an Arab Parliament session, emphasising that recent progress seen in the wider Arab region should not be overlooked.
Such campaigns targeting Arab states are "serious sovereignty breaches," he added, saying these practices are "flagrant violations of international laws and conventions." He went on to applaud Arab states for the progress they have made across various fields, citing a treeplanting drive in Saudi Arabia and parliamentary backing of a unity government in Libya as "historic achievements."
