Sharjah24 – Reuters: Letters written and typed by Britain's late Princess Diana went up for sale on Thursday (March 18) at an auction house in Cornwall, southwest England.
Forty letters written by the Princess of Wales to her friend Roger Bramble between 1990 and 1997 make up part of the 36 lots on sale.
David Lay Auctions based in Penzance, have received interest from around the world, including the United States and India.
The auction house's research manager, Mimi Connell-Lay, said the individual lots could fetch a total of over 30,000 pounds ($41,800).
By approximately 1530GMT on Thursday, the first 10 of the 36 lots had sold for a combined 17,300 pounds ($24,100) - over half the estimate.
Connell-Lay said that reading the letters had made her change her previously "indifferent" opinion of Diana, saying she she came across as a "lovely person" throughout her correspondence.
