Sharjah 24 – KUNA: Jordan on Saturday reported 61 deaths from Covid-19 and 4,144 more infections in the past 24 hours.
The death toll increased to 5,285 and the cases of infection surged to some 494,000 since the outbreak of the pandemic, said a joint statement by the Jordanian government and the Ministry of Health.

Recoveries rose by 4,594 to 390,127 it added. It noted that 2,737 patients, including 604 at ICUs, were receiving treatment at hospitals.

Authorities conducted about 28,000 medical tests in the 24 hours, taking the total swabs to 5.131 million, it pointed out.

In a bid to curb spread of the virus, the Kingdom last Wednesday declared extending night curfew, starting from 7:00 p.m. (local time) to 6:00 a.m., and a full closure of entertainment and sport facilities, and parks.
