Sharjah24 – Reuters: The cumulative total of global COVID-19 cases has surpassed 116 million as of Sunday, with the death toll exceeding 2.58 million, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
The WHO coronavirus dashboard showed that the global case count and death toll reached 116,135,492 and 2,581,976, respectively, as of 14:03 CET on Sunday.
As of Monday, a total of 249,160,837 doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered worldwide, according to the WHO.
The United States has reported 28,602,211 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 519,075 related deaths, both ranking the highest in the world, according to the WHO.
WHO data showed that India is the second-worst affected country globally, with 11,210,799 cases. Brazil followed with 10,869,227 cases, reporting the world's second highest coronavisus death toll of 262,770.
Countries with more than 2 million confirmed cases include Russia, Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Colombia and Argentina.
Countries with over 60,000 deaths include Mexico, India, Britain, Italy, Russia, France, Germany, Spain, Iran and Colombia, according to the WHO.
