Sharjah24 – Reuters: A cackling Emma Stone transforms into one of Disney's most feared villains, Cruella de Vil, in a new trailer for its highly-anticipated live-action prequel to "101 Dalmatians".
Set in 1970s London against the background of the punk rock movement, "Cruella" tells the story of young designer Estella before she becomes the fur-loving, dogknapping baddie.
In the trailer, released on Wednesday, Stone, 32, is seen sporting Cruella's eye-catching black and white hairstyle and wreaking havoc as she declares: "The thing is, I was born brilliant, born bad and a little bit mad".
One scene shows her making an entrance at a party and setting her cape alight to reveal a bright red dress underneath, catching the eye of the chic Baroness von Hellman, played by Emma Thompson.
The trailer garnered some 4.9 million views on Disney's Twitter page in the first three hours after its release, with some social media users comparing it to "Joker", the standalone origin story about Batman's nemesis.
"Cruella", released in May, is directed by Craig Gillespie, known for "I, Tonya".
