Sharjah24 – AFP: Hundreds of migrants cross the Tuqueza River, next to the tiny Panamanian town of Bajo Chico, as they emerge from a hellish week-long journey through the Darien Gap, a notoriously inhospitable marshy jungle that separates Panama from Colombia, the previous stop on their quest for the American Dream.
Ahmed Kabeer, Sudanese migrant said, "Three of us (migrants from Africa, ed) had died, they fell down when we climbed up the mountain... they fell down and they died. Two men and a woman." He added, "I am happy that I got closer, but the happiness will be complete after I reach the USA, because until now, I think I crossed 70 percent of this long distance."
Commenting on this also is Paulo da Silva , Angolan migrant who pointed out, "The jungle isn't good. Thieves pointed guns at us three times, they took all our money, they fired at some of us. But here we are doing fine at this camp. Our goal is to go to the United States. We are here in Panama, thank God, but we are going to reach our destination."
