Kamala Harris blasts Trump's abuse of power on Georgia phone call

Sharjah24 - Reuters: U.S. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris rallied supporters in Georgia on Sunday for Democratic Senate candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock ahead of Tuesday's consequential run-off election.
Harris' visit came on the heels of audio of a call released by the Washington Post where outgoing President Donald Trump is heard badgering Georgia's Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to "find" enough votes to reverse Democratic President-elect Joe Biden's victory in the state.

Harris called Trump's words "the voice of desperation" and "a bald-faced, bold abuse of power."

Trump's relentless attacks since the Nov. 3 election included an accusation that Raffensperger hid tens of thousands of illegal votes, ensuring Biden's victory. Georgia's Republican incumbent senators - David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler -- have called on Raffensperger to resign.

Perdue and Loeffler themselves are locked in tight campaigns with Ossoff and Warnock ahead of Tuesday run-off elections that will determine which party controls the U.S. Senate.
