SRTI Park, SCD sign MoU

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sharjah Civil Defence (SCD), with aim of establishing cooperation to support research and studies in the field of civil defence.
Such efforts come to attract companies and private research centres to manufacture safety equipment. In addition to raising safety awareness in rescue missions and to train personnel on evacuation as a means of transferring knowledge and to hold courses on institutional excellence and innovation standards. 

The cooperation is in line with the keenness of the two parties to support and enhance joint efforts between each other to accomplish their strategic goals and United Arab Emirates government vision. 

His Excellency Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of SRTI Park, signed the MoU with His Excellency Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director General of SCD.

The MoU encompasses joint goals between the two sides, with aim of serving the public, which include the organisation and provision of needed support to implement initiatives and projects of a variety of topics. In addition to exchanging of expertise, information, and studies, as well as providing recommendation between the two parties through conferences, scientific forums, and supporting innovators of SCD. 

This endeavour is part of the support the two sides aim to accomplish with innovative ideas, hoping to implement them in future with regard to civil defence affairs.  

The two entities work according to the MoU to establish strategic cooperation, and to gain from the experiences in all related areas, as the two sides will study, and implement projects and initiatives aimed to enhance research and develop the UAE society in all its segments. 

Regarding the MoU, His Excellency Hussain Al Mahmoudi, confirmed that the cooperation with SCD, reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on the need to join hands and cooperate with all Sharjah entities to develop the innovation sector in the Emirate. These efforts will make the city of Sharjah, a capital of innovation in the Middle East. This comes through the planning and launching of a variety of initiatives that would fulfil His Highness’s vision. 

His Excellency continued that the MoU would surely provide support to SRTI Park, along with SCD, enabling the two sides to accomplish their goals through the joint collaboration in a number of vital fields, which include public safety, through the adoption of ideas and the holding of creative initiatives in the field. His Excellency indicated that SCD exerted efforts to serve citizens and aims to provide a great living to all. 

His Excellency added that the cooperation translates the vision of SRTI Park, and its strategy to add all kinds of future technology, which means that SRTI Park is obliged to expand its efforts to find new partners in many governmental and private entities, with aim of becoming a regional centre for future technology. The strategy comes through the provision of the right environment for research and development that would support scientific institutions, research centres, and the local economy.  

It is noteworthy to mention that the MoU comes to initiate cooperation and organise efforts in different governmental sectors in the country. The joint vision aims to create a package of initiatives and implements many goals related the nationalisation of technology, and spreading awareness on its economy in the UAE in general and the Emirate of Sharjah in particular.
