Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) concluded the World Bicycle Day 2021 at the Sharjah Corniche in cooperation with the UAE Cycling Federation and​Al Qudra Sports Services Company.

The event saw great success and the participation of at least 1000 cyclists of different nationalities and age groups, as well as virtual participants as part of SSC plan to spread the culture of sports in Sharjah and organise sports and community events that contribute to increasing the number of athletes including cyclists.

 

His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, praised the success of the race, held on the occasion of the World Bicycle Day and celebrated on the 3rd of June of each year.  The event received a great turnout from various groups and nationalities, which answers the objectives of the Council and implements the visions and directives ofHis Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, andand his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up ofH.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council.

 

His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami added that the event was held under the supervision of SSCSports and Community Events Department, and valued the distinguished participation being a continuation of the success of previous events and an affirmation of the importance of sports in the smiley emirate.

 

His Excellency concluded that SSC goal has always been to encourage sports as a lifestyle benefiting health. He added that SSC is keen to organise different sports and social events reflecting the sports culture in Sharjah.
