Sharjah 24: The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) places great importance on its participation in the 17th International Education Fair that runs at Sharjah Expo 19-21 October.

Saud Al Ameri, UAEU Director of Admission and Registration said, “It is an important international event eagerly awaited by students and their families.  It offers them the opportunity to learn about university degree programs and how each meets the needs of the changing employment market.  They will be able to meet with university leaders and faculty members from distinguished world universities and discuss the study choices. These are important decisions that will affect the course of their future lives and careers.  The Fair also enables the UAEU to evaluate its own undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs in view of the matters important to potential students in the UAE and internationally”.

Saud was keen to explain that the UAEU also takes care to align its programs with the UAE strategies for national development. “These emphasise the importance of scientific research, the development and application of advanced and digital technologies, and innovations that address sustainability and future challenges to global economic and social wellbeing”.  He added, “The UAEU is proud to serve the nation’s preparation for the next 50 years”.

Saud set out the UAEU offer.  “As the University of the Future, the UAEU has a leading reputation in the region, and an increasing international presence in matters of scientific research and graduate employability.  It has distinguished international faculty who have the highest percentage of doctoral degrees in the region. Our curricula are research-led, integrating the latest faculty research into the educational experience of students”. 

Saud outlined the importance to the UAEU of research and education in the fields of advanced science and technology, space sciences, engineering, medical and health sciences, and innovation and entrepreneurship. 

He added, “All of our degree programs serve the purposes of strengthening students’ ethical and moral integrity, protecting their happiness and wellbeing, and supporting their future orientation. We ensure that students are full of ideas for their future and have a robust understanding of their history, and world cultures and civilizations.  They learn English and other languages and can join incubators of entrepreneurship and innovation. Our student services provide a rich and attractive living-learning environment and embrace the diversity of our academic community – distinguished Emirati scientists and scholars and students and academics from all over the world”.
