DRASSA offers first aid training to SSC staff

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) organized its second first aid session for its employees from September 13 to 15, at the Sharjah Chess Cultural Club, in collaboration with the Development and Research Academy for Sports Science Activities (DRASSA), as part of its efforts to spread public culture and improve standards of quality, health, and occupational safety. The previous session was held in July of last year.
The course included theoretical lectures and practical exercises in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), and the treatment of bleeding, burns, suffocation, and other sudden injuries.
 
The course was attended by the directors of sports and community events departments, as well as representatives from the Department of Sports Affairs and Development, Support Services, Government Communication, and a number of employees..
 
According to Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, the session is one of the council's regular programs aimed at improving general culture and securing occupational health and safety standards, in response to directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
