Many thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for appointing me as Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Petroleum Council.

His Highness entrusted confidence and good faith in me to serve the Emirate of Sharjah, its resident, and its civilised project in its local and regional dimensions. 

His Highness planted the seed of responsibility and citizenship in every individual in the Emirate of Sharjah, and we all owe His Highness so much for what we have achieved individually and collectively.  

With this great honour, I can not do other than to thank Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and assure them that I will remain a support for them and the leadership of the Emirate. 

We were brought up on the wisdom of Sharjah Ruler, who instilled in us the meanings of belonging and partnership and all the responsibility associated with them individually and collectively. Each individual in the Emirate of Sharjah, regardless of his position or profession, is unavoidably responsible for the success of its civilised and development project in UAE. In addition, every individual is associated with the Emirate’s identity, culture and image before the world, along with his responsibility for the security, stability and prosperity of the society. 

Promotion and assumption of new positions mean more responsibility and effort not only in translating our vision and aspirations, but also in being responsible at the forefront of society’s march towards greater success so that he becomes a role model in which the society and the country take pride. He also motivate and inspire his team as teams play a considerable role in all achievements of the Emirate, which will remain a seedbed to every success and excellence both individually and collectively.

The position and identity of Sharjah deepen my sense of pride and responsibility; Sharjah is not an ordinary social geographical space. Rather, it is a model for development, justice and progress. It is also the incubator of the scientific and knowledge movement in the region, the destination of elite art and a fertile soil for business and humanitarian initiatives. 

It is an expression of the dream and aspirations of millions of people to whom it has extended a helping hand to innovate to realise their creativity and innovations and to unlock their talents and capabilities. It is the beauty of the present with the features of history and hope for the future, and there is no place in the world that could explode in us the passion and desire to work and give like Sharjah, and here lies the real value of our responsibility towards it.

For me, the directive of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, represents a new start for my journey of working for the good of the Emirate and its society; a journey that can only achieve its goals by continuing the approach of partnership, cooperation and altruism established by His Highness over more than four decades ago, so that we can feel today its blessed results and effects. To everyone, this teaches us that everything we do today must continue to flourish generation after generation, so that Sharjah remains shining with its light that fills the world with hope and the soul of every Emirati with pride.
