Sharjah 24: The local Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team at the Sharjah Police launched, Friday morning, a security campaign to enhance precautionary measures in mosques located within the industrial, commercial and residential areas.
Dubbed “ Salama”, which means  safety, the campaign aims to reduce the influx of worshippers to mosques that do not accommodate large numbers in industrial, commercial and residential areas, and are forced to pray in the outer squares in the sun, by transporting them to larger mosques located on the main squares of the emirate, according to the implementation of precautionary measures to limit the spread of the pandemic, and to facilitate worshipers performance of their prayers.

The campaign was based on the directives of Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Head of the Local Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Team in the Emirate of Sharjah, to educate worshipers coming from the industrial areas.  Text messages about the campaign had been previously sent to workers’ respective companies.

Sharjah Police is keen to intensify the security presence in the emirate, in order to achieve the security and safety of the community, and to emphasise the efforts made by its strategic partners, who had a significant impact on the success of the campaign, and play an effective role in achieving its general objectives.

Sharjah Police also calls on community members and various entities to join hands and unify efforts in adhering to the implementation of the public health and safety protocol and contributing to limiting the spread of the coronavirus.
