SSSD organises its awareness event “Stop Violence”

Sharjah24: In conjunction with the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression; Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) held; its annual forum entitled "Stop Violence", which took place inside the halls of the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, in addition to the virtual broadcast via the visual platform (Zoom), on May 29th.
The forum aims; to define the roles of formal and informal institutions in providing psychosocial support to children during the Covid 19 pandemic, in addition to analyzing and monitoring the psychological and social effects of the pandemic on children. The forum also aims to develop proposals and solutions that contribute to child protection and provide psychological and social support.

Maha Mansour Al Ali, Director of the Department of Government Communication at the department, said: The forum was organised on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of the Aggression, which falls on June 4 of each year, and the department decided to present the forum before its date, given its coincidence with the Sharjah Children's Reading Festival, being the most attractive event for children and their families.

It was decided to hold the forum in the presence of the festival, and at the same time virtually through direct transmission via the (Zoom platform), in order to allow the participation of the largest possible number of community members.
