SEWA intensifies efforts to raise efficiency of Al Zubair station

Sharjah24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) is intensifying its efforts to complete the second phase of the project to raise the efficiency of the Al Zubair desalinated water pumping station from 13.2 million gallons to 25 million gallons per day, and it is expected that work on the project will end at the next April, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
His Excellency Saeed Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SEWA, stated that the authority will intensify its efforts to complete the project on time, and the authority will work during the next phase to implement a set of developmental projects for water lines and networks in the Emirate of Sharjah in an effort to keep pace with the great development and to achieve its development plan in cooperation with all government agencies.

He pointed out that raising the efficiency of the Al Zubair station is considered one of the future projects, which in turn will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of the water sector. The second phase includes the addition of 3 main pumps for the station in addition to a number of connections to the station to the main lines.

Eng. Essam Al Mulla, Director of the Water Department, confirmed that work is continuing in the second phase of the project to raise the efficiency of the Al-Zubair station, so that the quantities of water pumped from the station reach 25 million gallons per day instead of 13.2 million gallons, which represents about twice the quantities of water that were pumped from the station during last year.
