SEDD organises a virtual seminar for Sharjah businesswomen

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) organised a virtual seminar under the title “Promising Breakthrough for Businesswomen to Achieve Comprehensive and Sustainable Development in Sharjah” and under the slogan “Emirati Women … Title for Success and Giving”. The Seminar aims to develop society and women in particular, in light of the competitive work environment and the exerted efforts to enhance women entrepreneurial capabilities. The Seminar was attended by a number of entities from different sectors, schools and university students.
Noura bin Sandal, Deputy Director of Planning and Economic Studies Department at SEDD, said that SEDD is concerned with preparing and implementing economic plans for Sharjah. In addition, the Department focuses on conducting studies; developing investment systems that support businesswomen; and providing an appropriate environment for investment. 

Bin Sandal pointed that work is implemented by simplifying and facilitating procedures for investors; and providing women with entrepreneurship developments, in light of the competitive work environment, and enhancing their skills and capabilities in the field of entrepreneurship. 

Bin Sandal added that SEDD encourages women as productive forces to achieve sustainable development goals, which are converted into policies, plans and methodologies allowing them to enter the world of trade, production and manufacturing. Bin Sandal stressed that SEDD seeks to provide the necessary facilities for those businesswomen to coordinate with the competent authorities to start projects. The Deputy Director also confirmed that Emirati women have a great role to play, and their contribution is key to strengthening the economy around the globe.

Fatima Al Ali, Director of Supporting and Financing Project Department at the Ruwad Establishment affiliated to SEDD, stressed the Ruwad role in supporting and enhancing the services provided to support Emirati entrepreneurs.
