Sharjah 24: In the attendance of Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, the Sustainable Engineering Asset Management Group of the Research Institute of Sciences and Engineering (RISE) at the University of Sharjah (UoS) organised the Third Forum for the Management of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles under the title "Management of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Activities (Drones)".
Prof. Ahmed Al-Shama'a, Dean of the College of Engineering, attended the meeting along with Dr. Imad Alsyouf, Coordinator of the Research Group and Director of the Sustainability Office; Dr. Ali Cheaitou, Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management; as well as a high-level delegation from the Kingdom of Sweden included the Linkoping University and the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration (LFV), and the Swedish company (SAAB), with the participation of a number of local institutions, including the Department of Civil Aviation in Sharjah, and Dubai Foundation for Air Navigation Services, Dubai Foundation for Aviation Engineering Projects, the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates. This in addition to the participation of representatives of some related institutions such as Dubai Municipality, Roads and Transport Authority, and Aramex.

The Forum discussed, over a period of three days, the development of a simulation system for drone movement to discover and measure its tracks on any region in the Emirate of Sharjah and Dubai, and to integrate the concept of operation and clarify aspects of security and safety for use in cities. This in addition to discussing traffic management laws and how to balance them with aircrafts in the map of the services provided. A workshop was held to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation between local and international institutions in the field of scientific research and to discuss future work plans related to the project.
