Sharjah 24: The members of the Academic Advisory Council of the University of Sharjah (UoS) discussed a number of topics and future plans for the University, during the meeting held in the presence of Dr. Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah; Dr. Al Siddiq Ahmed Al Mustafa Al Sheikh, Vice Chancellor of UOS for Academic Affairs and Chairman of the Advisory Council; faculty members and representatives of university students from different faculties.
Al Nuaimi pointed to several construction projects currently underway in the University's buildings, which came under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and the President of the University to make the University and all its buildings a scientific and academic environment developed and environmentally friendly. He also highlighted the continuous development of the university at all local, regional and international levels.

He indicated that the university now, according to the latest international ratings, is ranked third among universities operating in the UAE, and is the first of these universities in the service of the local community and cooperation with all bodies and departments, as well as in terms of the number of students at its campus, which currently mounts to about 15500, more than 2,000 of whom are in postgraduate Master and Doctoral programmes studying 107 accredited academic programmes.

In addition, the University has branches covering the cities of the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as the complex of medical colleges, which is characterised by its capabilities and equipment.
