Sharjah 24: Eastern Province Police launched on Wednesday, the first awareness-raising workshop for private security personnel, in the city of Khorfakkan, as part of the "Our City is Our Responsibility" campaign activities.
Lt. Col. Saeed Khalfan Al-Naqbi, Head of the Criminal Investigation Department at the Eastern Province Police emphasised the important role that the private security companies play in maintaining security, along with the police.

In an exclusive statement to “Sharjah 24”, Al-Naqbi said that within the activities of the "Our City is Our Responsibility" campaign, the first awareness-raising workshops were launched on Wednesday, aimed at strengthening the security sense of the members of private security companies. The workshop was held in the meeting room of the building of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the city of Khorfakkan.

He has highlighted the importance of the security initiative program launched by the Eastern Province Police last February, stressing that It aims to enhance security, safety, and prevent crime in various regions. He pointed out that similar workshops will be organised in the cities of Kalba and Dibba Al-Hisn.

In his opening speech of the workshop, Al-Naqbi stressed the importance of the role of the private security personnel in monitoring negative phenomena and behaviours, underscoring their role in significantly reduce crime.

The workshop, attracting about 20 security personnel in private companies, discussed the basics principles to prevent a fire from spreading, briefing the attendees on the uses of common fire extinguishers.
