Sharjah 24 The Districts and Villages Affairs Department (DVAD) has designated nine districts councils in the Emirate of Sharjah to receive no longer needed books, as part of its cooperation with the Sharjah Environment Company (Bee’ah), with the aim of supporting the old books recycling campaign.
The old books recycling campaign comes through the provision of containers characterised by high storage capacity and beautiful design, part of the programmes launched by Sharjah Environment Company (Bee'ah) to collect old books for recycling, aiming to benefit the public with its continuous community activities, which is in line with the Emirate of Sharjah being the World Book Capital of 2019.

The containers are placed at the entrances of the nine districts councils in the cities of the Emirate of Sharjah, which include in the city of Sharjah, Muwailih District Council, Mughaidir District Council, Wasit District Council, Al Rahmaniyah District Council and Al Khalidiya District Council. While in the city of Khorfakkan, Al Subaihiya District Council and Heyawa District Council, in the city of Al Dhaid, Al Bustan District Council, and in the city of Dibba Al Hisn, the city council of Dibba Al Hisn.

The districts councils showed great cooperation with the campaign by encouraging community members to place books that they do not need in the containers, with the aim of providing Bee'ah with old books for recycling, and to educate the community to take advantage of old books.

In this regard, DVAD affirmed its keenness to continuously cooperate with Bee’ah, which converge with DVAD's community service goals to support the old books recycling campaign.
