Sharjah municipality: 17,000 inspection visits in Q1 2020

Sharjah24: Sharjah Municipality (SM) has affirmed its keenness to intensify the inspection visits to the various establishments in the emirate of Sharjah to ensure their compliance with the health requirements and work regulations, in order to ensure the safety and health of provision of the public.
The visits included restaurants, coffee shops, barbers, and beauty centres, with intensified efforts and focus on hygiene and precautionary measures to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus.

In this context, Thabet Al Tarifi, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, stressed that the municipality’s inspection visits are part of its continuous efforts to implement the best requirements, health standards and preventive measures in establishments, and taking deterrent penalties against violators according to the list of penalties approved by the Sharjah Executive Council, by which orders inspectors continue their inspection visits intensively and daily to ensure compliance with the requirements and preventive measures that the municipality enforced to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

For her part, Sheikha Shatha Al Mualla, Assistant Director-General of the Public Health and Central Laboratories Sector of Sharjah Municipality, stated that the municipality has intensified its inspection visits with around 17,000 inspections being made during the first quarter of 2020.

Other services provided by the municipality during the same period include licensing, shipment approvals, sample testing, trainings and awareness campaigns, she added.
