Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) provided a new smart platform for distance training that includes educational content for more than 2000 training programmes that are in line with the training and e-learning needs, within the framework of SEWA’s eagerness to develop the skills of its employees and provide them with the best services in light of the current coronavirus pandemic, which forced everyone to rely on distance learning.
His Excellency Eng. Dr. Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), highlighted that the smart platform will contribute to ensuring continuity and sustainability of training and development to employees in various fields that support competency, along with the continuation of SEWA's successes in applying the remote work system.

The Chairman of Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) pointed out that the smart platform is characterised by its comprehensiveness and is available to all employees 24 hours, reflecting the efforts of SEWA to develop its infrastructure for smart transformation in offering training content that corresponds to the requirements of development.

His Excellency maintained that the platform enables the trainees to join the virtual training courses without being restricted by a specific time or place, and allows them to learn about the best practices, as it contains a guide for training materials and a set of numerous services.

His Excellency indicated that the new platform introduces an interactive system of distance training through distinguished programmes with content that is easily accessible all the time, and includes training programmes in many areas such as project management, communication, motivation, emotional intelligence, Excel courses, web design, decision making, problem solving, self-development, leadership skills, information technology, human resources and other targeted programmes.

His Excellency added that the need for a large segment of employees to benefit from the platform and the educational content of training programmes comes to enhance their skills and career progression paths, and to make SEWA a model capable of implementing initiatives that are exceptionally beneficial to employees and society.
