SEDD completes more than 37,000 transactions

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) revealed the completion of 9000 licenses from the beginning of March to the end of May 2020. Also, it stated that the total number of services provided by the Department during the same period amounted to 37,444 transactions that were provided through service centers and digital services.
In details, the licenses achieved by SEDD from the beginning of March to the end of May included the issuance of 497 new licenses, the renewal of 7,435 licenses, the amendment of 1,068 licenses, and the completion of 17,274 licenses through digital transactions that were provided through its applications and website. Also, it should be noted that 20,170 transactions have been completed through the service centers.

His Excellency Sultan Abdullah Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, confirmed that these data indicate the continuity and stability of the economic business environment in Sharjah, adding that the economic incentives launched by the Executive Council in the emirate contributed greatly to stimulating the business sectors in Sharjah.

Al Suwaidi said that since the beginning of the outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its effects on all economic sectors and activities in the world, Sharjah Economic placed economic companies and businessmen as a top priority. Whereas the Department has found solutions that contributed to facilitating business in the Emirate of Sharjah, expanding investment and growth, and thus creating more new economic opportunities, in addition to maintaining the economic move, and the attractiveness of Sharjah as a local and global economic center.

In addition, Al Suwaidi stressed on SEDD’s concerns to promote Sharjah Government’s orientations to provide all digital services that facilitate the practice of the business environment. Thus, SEDD demonstrated a high efficiency in its digital infrastructure, which was reflected in the quality and smoothness of its services and helped investors and owners of companies to complete their transactions easily and conveniently.

Also, His Excellency SEDD Chairman pointed out that the digital transformation in SEDD services which reached 100% contributed to maintaining the progress of business and services in these exceptional circumstances.

From his side, Fahad Al Khamiri, Director of Registration and Licensing Department at SEDD, affirmed that the continuous efforts and partnership between the Department and private companies contributed to the launch of mutual and shared projects and initiatives of added value to the Sharjah economy that will raise the level of efficiency and provide a prestigious service environment for the business community in accordance with the highest standards and practices adopted.

Furthermore, Al Khamiri stressed that the provision of advanced digital services and employing the latest remote communication technologies to communicate with partners and the customers by SEDD as well as its role to ensure that services are provided smoothly and safely, contributed to encouraging and stimulating business and expanding trade and economic activities in the emirate.

Moreover, Al Khamiri explained that SEDD will continue to support and enhance the ambitious development process of the emirate’s economy towards excellence and achieve the ambitious vision of UAE in various fields in general and Sharjah in particular. Such thing will be done through directing customers from different sectors to complete their transactions through the SEDD website or its smart applications in order to ensure their safety and health. Al Khamiri also called on investors to take advantage of the economic incentives launched by the Sharjah Executive Council and emphasized that the decision to exempt the value of three months from the annual fees for economic establishments, which was announced within the incentives, is still valid until December 31, 2020.
