Sharjah 24: Sharjah Police’s “Aman' Ya Biladi Programme”, a radio show that highlights the safety and security aspects in the emirate, Sunday, hosted Dr. Jassim Khalil Mirza, chairman of the sociological association, and Abdullah Al Zarouni, Senior Information Security Analyst at the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA).
The discussion focused on the dangers of the misuse of modern technology and multimedia and the problems they entail, as well as the risks that can be posed to phones and electronic devices due to the unsafe use of modern means of technology, in addition to identifying the applications used to protect mobile phones and electronic devices against hacking via e-mails, which often carry a virus or sent by hackers specialising in theft, vandalism and espionage.

The guests also talked about the phenomenon of electronic addiction, the preoccupation of families from children and its bad impact of spoiling values, customs and traditions not only within the family, but in the entire community, in addition to the dangers of addiction to electronic games and their negative impact on the public health and safety of children.

The guests also addressed the phenomenon of electronic blackmail, tricks used by blackmailers to inflict their victims, how to avoid falling into their traps, ways to deal with the blackmailer, and the role of the family in educating children about the best use of modern technology.

Alia Al Shamsi, an expert from the Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), spoke, in an intervention via telephone, about the SPEA's efforts in partnership with parents to raise awareness of the optimal use of modern technology.
