Hundreds of students protest in French city of Lyon

Sharjah24 – AFP: Hundreds of students protest in Lyon against student precarity, marching in front of the regional student welfare office where a 22-year-old set himself on fire on 8 November over financial hardships.
Marion, student, activist Solidaires Etudiant.e.s Lyon said, "We are demonstrating simply because our demands have not been heard by the government, and we will continue to do so until our demands are heard."

"The main demands we are currently making are the increase in the number and amount of scholarships," Marion added.

Pierre-Antoine, student, Communist activist in Lyon pointed out, "We are mobilised against student precariousness to demand an increase in the number and amount of scholarships and the construction of CROUS housing for all students who are already scholarship holders. And we're also here in solidarity with the comrade who tried to end his life."
