Sharjah 24 – AFP: Hurricane Hanna has weakened to a tropical storm Sunday in southern Texas, the National Hurricane Center (NHC) said.
The NHC, in a statement available to KUNA in Kuwait, noted that heavy rainfall from Hanna "has already produced numerous reports of flash flooding across south Texas." It warned that "additional heavy rainfall will continue to cause life-threatening flash flooding" over south Texas and northern Mexico.

The NHC also warned of "isolated minor to moderate river flooding in south Texas" and that"storm surge along the Texas coast should continue to diminish today." Hanna, the first hurricane of the 2020 Atlantic season, made landfall on Saturday with maximum sustained winds of about 150 km per hour.
