Sharjah 24 –Reuters: A huge typhoon Tapah (No. 17) threatens the Japanese archipelago over a long weekend.
Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) announced, a large Typhoon Tapah will likely bring strong winds and heavy rain to extensive areas of the Japanese archipelago over the three-day weekend. The typhoon is approaching close to Okinawa Prefecture on Saturday, September 21 morning.

According to Okinawa Electric Power Company, as of 7:31 AM (local time), over 33,8oo customers were out of power throughout Okinawa Prefecture.

The JMA warns of floods, landslides and swollen rivers caused by heavy rain as well as lightning, tornadoes and high waves.
