Sharjah 24 – BNA: Jordan has condemned Israeli occupation's continued violations against the Al Aqsa Mosque, and demanded Israeli occupation to immediately halt such provocative acts, which constitute a gross breach of international law, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.
The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates summoned the Israeli occupation Ambassador in Amman and asked him to convey a message to his government that it must immediately cease all violations and attempts aimed at changing the historical and legal situation in the holy compound.

Secretary-General of the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Zaid Lozi, told the ambassador that the recent remarks by the Israeli occupation Public Security Minister over changing the status quo in the Al Aqsa Mosque are condemned and rejected.

Lozi made it clear that the 144-dunum Al Aqsa Mosque is a place of worship and prayer for Muslims only.

The Jordanian Ministry stressed its denunciation of the Israeli occupation authorities' closure of the mosque's gates and denying access to Muslim worshipers, demanding Israeli occupation to respect its obligations as an occupying power in accordance with international law and international humanitarian law.
